It would be super cool if there was either a preference to disable autocorrection always, or to make this manual toggle at least persist. I know this is an OS-level feature, but I'm hoping Atlantis can exert some selective control over it.

Anyway, I appreciate the work you're doing on this Sparks! This persistent auto correct thing is persistently annoying, but at least now I know if I do the 'right click in input window' route it actually affects all spawns so I don't have to do it for each individual spawn from the Edit menu anymore. (Talk about a headache.) For now I've actually disabled Lion's global spelling correction... we'll see how much that bites me in the butt.

Believe me, you are *far* from the only person to comment on the irony of this. I get why Apple did it — people *did* genuinely get confused if they accidentally turned off autocorrect in an app and then forgot about it, then complained that autocorrect didn't work — but I think it was a bad move to remove the app-specific setting. In the earliest builds of Lion, you could overwrite this on a per-application value, but then in about 10.7.1 or 10.7.2 it started just only reading the global value.
You know, it's kind of funny that Lion remembers all sorts of things I want it to forget, like all the documents I had open the last time I quit my word processor... but it won't remember that I turned auto correct off the last time I was using Atlantis.
